KARACHI KILLINGS
Four hundred twenty four (424) killings in Karachi in three months (June, July and August2009)
According to the reports of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) Sindh Chapter Karachi, 424 persons were killed in last three months in Karachi. Fifty were women in these killed persons. Three hundred and twenty three persons out of those were killed by targeted arms fires, ninety nine were killed on political enmity by the political workers of the opposite party. Only thirty nine cases and police reports were registered in the police stations while fifteen persons were arrested against these killings. These reports of killings were collected from the different daily newspapers printed from Karachi. HRCP has printed dates, names, sex, age, marital status, reasons of killings, place of residence of the killed persons and the names of newspapers in their Monthly magazine Jehd-e-Haq printed from the Head Quarter HRCP Aiwan-e-Jamhoor, 107, Tipu Block, New Garden Town Lahore in the July and August publications of the magazine. Another report says in the same current month's publication that fifty two political workers were targeted and killed in Karachi in the month of July 2009. Out of them seventeen belonged to Mahajir Qaumi Movement (MQM), seventeen were from Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), two from Jiay Sindh, one from Jamat-e-Islami, one from Jiay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), one from banned Sippah-e-Sahaba, one from Awami National Party (ANP) and twelve were unknown.
NWFP KILLINGS
Three hundred seventy two (372) persons were targeted and killed in NWFP Pakistan in first seven months of this year.
According to reports published in the monthly magazine of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) 372 persons were targeted and killed in North West Frontier Province (Pashtoonkhawah) of Pakistan from January 1 to July 31, 2009. These persons included foreign engineers and journalist, police officials, security and military men, women, children, government servants and officers, political assembly leaders and political party leaders, UNO workers and office bearers.
A great number of teachers and University Professors had applied for their transfer from Balochistan to the other Province on the target killing incidents of some teachers.
