What is a profile ?

What is personality sketch or profile?

The pieces focused on an individual's accomplishments, attitudes and characteristics that make him or her stand out is called a profile or personal profile. Some writers make a distinction between the personality sketch and profile. The sketch attempts to convey a sense of the total person, with emphasis on overall achievements, lifestyle and philosophy. The profile, it may be usually a magazine piece or a website page, having some necessary information about the person with his/her photographs. In a profile, there is a great deal and compromise on photographs to tell the story to the people. The photographs in a profile tell many aspects of the profile person. Often it examines only one or two aspects of the person in depth, because profiles are generally based on news pegs.

WRITING COLUMNS

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN WRITING THE COLUMN?
Do you have special interest that intrigues you, motivates you and consumes at least some of your leisure and perhaps academic time? Is it something you know more about than anyone around you? You could become a columnist.
A column lets the writer indulge in creative expression and personal opinion that would not be tolerated in air other kind of story. The columnist can pass judgments, make recommendations, talk about himself or herself and otherwise violate most of the accepted tenets of news writing. In broadcasting the counterpart to the political column in the newspaper is often the commentary. Here too the rule can be broken and often are.

What are TV Talk shows providing us ?

What are TV talk shows providing?

Pakistani media channels are telecasting different TV talk shows. What are these TV talk shows giving to people? In my opinion,

ON ARY NEWS:
The programme "Late Edition" is much informative, attractive and educating. But most of the people watch this show to see the anchor Asma Sherazi. She always appears in the dress having scarf or stole covering her head completely. Many people think that she is unmarried. But last night when I first time was searching her photos on internet; I knew that she is married. I received some new information and signed up to a few new websites related to media. I also watch her show "Late Edition" which is telecasted at late night after ten O'clock in night. She raise questions frequently to the political or other celebrities. She is very intelligent. I pray for her to achieve her goals and targets in life.

ON GEO TV:
I like more than one talk shows on Geo including "Capital Talk", "Meray Mutabiq" and "Aaj Kamran Khan Kay Sath". Capital Talk is informative and educating while other two are criticizing as well as informative and educating. All the three shows have brilliant and excellent brains.

ON AAJ TV:
I like only one show on this TV i.e; Bolta Pakistan. It is very informative and creative. Both the anchors Mushtaq Minhas and Nusrat Javed of the show are doing a great job for preparing good brains of the listeners.

FEUDAL SYSTEM IN PAKISTAN

Can we really get rid of feudal system from a Democratic Pakistan?

Feudal system is enforced in the most of the parts of the country in Pakistan. Feudal system is defined as, "A state of society in which the main social bond is the relation between lord and man, a relation implying on the lord's part protection and defence: on the man's part protection, service and reverence, the service including service in arms. This personal relation is inseparably involved in a proprietary relation, the tenure of land. The man holds of the lord, the man's service is a burden on the land, the lord has important rights in the land. The "King" or "Lord" was ultimate lord of all land in a Kingdom before separation of Pakistan. He granted land to his lords in return for military and other services, and they in their turn made further similar grants, the process being known as "Subinfeudation". The unit of land in the system was the manor, each under its lord, who had a right to services in labour and in kind from the villeins, the servile tenants of the manor, over whom he exercised full jurisdiction. The lord in return owned them a duty of protection. The "King" had an overriding authority and claimed allegiance both from lords and their tenants."

To write this paragraph means to get the comments on feudal system in Pakistan and to find out the way to get rid of this feudal system. Or to know that are we able or capable of to get rid of this system in realty or not yet?

SOCIALISM IN PAKISTAN

Socialism and Social Democracy in Pakistan

When I was studying the "Encyclopedia of Countries and Nations", I found only 19 Kingdoms, 3 Principalities, 1 Confederation, 2 Socialist Republics, 1 Co-operative Republic and 3 commonwealth Countries or States out of total 194. I surprised when I considered that only 11 countries are using the word "Federal Government or State" with their names and 5 are using "Democratic Republic or State". Another interesting thing I noted that three countries use the word "United" or "Union of" with their names i.e.; United states of America, United Arab emirates and Union of Myanmar. Then I thought about the system of elections and about the two main big parties of USA i.e.; Republican and Democratic. I also noted that most of the countries are using the word "Republic" with their official name. Then I went through the dictionary and found the definition of the word "Republic" as, "A county that is governed by a president and politicians elected by the people and where there is no king or queen." It means most of the countries have the system of government run through elected politicians. Or we can say that democracy is most common and famous system of government across the world. Then I thought to read the definition of the word "Democracy". I found this definition, "Democracy is a system of government in which all the people of a country can vote to elect the representatives to form an organized government for fair and equal treatment of everyone in the country for their right to take part in making decisions." Then my mind went towards the logo and motive of the current ruling party in Pakistan i.e.; Pakistan Peoples Party or PPP. The Manifesto of PPP says that their party mission is to impose socialism in Pakistan. I read the definition of Socialism and knew that, "Socialism is a set of political and economic theories based on the belief that everyone has an equal right to share of a country's wealth and that the government should own and control the main industries." Pakistan is a Social and Democratic Republic. Social Democracy is defined as, "A political system that combines the principles of socialism with the greater personal freedom of democracy. A country that has political system of government is called a Social Democrat." Hence I advise and suggest to the President Asif Ali Zardari, "Mr. President, kindly try to establish Pakistan as a pure Social Democratic country. Now the Chapter of terrorism has been closed and reached to its end with the killing of Baitullah Mehsood. Hence kindly develop SOCIAL DEMOCRACY in Pakistan.
